We don’t work for awards, we work for our clients’ success. But we are proud that others have foundVirginia Peninsula PR firms our work worthy of recognition.

We have won more than 350 local, state, regional and national awards for career achievement and excellence in communications and marketing. Here are a representative sampling:

  • For “The Wellness Payoff,” a communications campaign to promote the success of Sentara Healthcare’s and Optima Health’s employee wellness program, we won five local, state and national awards. They include three from the 2011 Virginia Press Women Communications Awards — First Place for community relations campaigns, First Place for videos, First Place for podcasts; a Pinnacle Award from the Hampton Roads Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America; and Third-Place national award from the National Federation of Press Women for podcasts.
  • 2009 Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Advocate.
  • Seven 2008 Virginia Press Women awards for a successful public relations and marketing campaign for Newport News Public Schools, called “Every Student Counts,” encouraging parents to register children for school early. Also won First Place, National Federation of Press Women, public service campaign and three second-place awards.
  • Honorable Mention, Public Relations Society of America – Hampton Roads Chapter, 2008 Pinnacle Awards, for “Every Student Counts.”
  • First Place, catalogs, Virginia Press Women, for a publication of the Executive MBA Program of the Mason School of Business at The College of William & Mary, 2007; and Second Place, National Federation of Press Women, 2007.
  • Second Place, Web site development, for mini-site developed for the naming of The Mason School of Business at The College of William & Mary, Virginia Press Women, 2006.
  • Four 2005 Advancement Awards, Council for Advancement and Support of Education, District III. Grand Award, improvement in design of Virginia Wesleyan College view book; Award of Excellence, institutional relations program; Award of Excellence, graphic identity program; Special Merit, slide and multimedia programs.
  • First Place Award for editorial writing in daily newspapers published in Daily Press and Virginian-Pilot, Virginia Press Women, 2003.
  • First Place National Awards for audiovisuals, print advertising, radio advertising, color brochure, total marketing program (twice) and total public relations campaign from the National Federation of Press Women, 1987-1996.
  • Sweepstakes Award, Peninsula CAP Awards, 1995.
  • National Communicator of Achievement nominee, NFPW, 1992.
  • Gold Medallion, annual report, Healthcare Marketing Report awards, 1986.
  • Par Excellence Award, District III of the International Association for Business Communicators for outstanding leadership and motivation of volunteers, 1994.
  • Sweepstakes Award, 1988 and 1996, Virginia Press Women.
  • Press Woman of the Year, Virginia Press Women, 1989.
  • Two Superior awards and five Merit awards, Virginia Society for Healthcare PR & Marketing, 1987.
  • Career Achievement Award, Peninsula Women’s Network, 1988.
  • Media Advocate of Small Business Award, Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, 1988.
  • Virginia Public Relations Medallion, for the outstanding, low-budget, non-commercial program in Virginia, presented by Richmond Public Relations Association, Public Relations Society of America and Virginia State Chamber of Commerce, 1984.
  • Silver Gavel Award, American Bar Association, 1978.
